Raven’s falling
Dawn withered and dusk arose
Light fades as darkness grows
Raven mounted his black mare
Spurring into the forest, he did not dare
For rumours jump in and out of ears
Of a terrible creature, who all should fear
His domain lies within the great forest
The countrymen swore to leave him, they promised
But the Raven did not keep his truce
And trotted onwards towards the spruce
Trees glared at him from either side
Looming over him, bidding him goodbye
Rocks parted to either side
Paving him a way to the creature’s domicile
Finally, a cavern appeared to his eyes
He looked up to stare at its grand size
Warnings encrusted onto its large walls
The light dims as the night falls
To his belief he saw no creature
And mocked it aloud about its features
Then it hissed then snarled and growled
Pouncing onto its prey with plenty of foul
Gossip spread about the Raven’s falling
They found his belief quite appalling
