The Ocean’s Falling

Clouds formed binding the abyssal sky in its opaque mist, encasing the atmosphere in a dark void. Multi-coloured, stoic buildings stood aloof from the constant onslaught of the cresting tides that bounded up the concrete barrier’s zenith. Spears of water propelled itself into the air and descended back down penetrating the pane of glass on the train; sending the fragments plunging into the ceiling- piercing at first touch.

The screaming of women and children echoed through the train bouncing of the walls flowing like a stream of water against the upsurges of waves. But no matter how loud they were the waves moaned louder, thrusting through the noise.

Storms brewed in the sky distorting the clouds and shooting bolts of lightning at the train’s impenetrable exterior supported the waves as much as possible. The chaos arose quicker than the sight of lightning and you could even hear the distinct hammering of hearts so clearly; it produced a sound of iron on stone. Clank. Clank.

The train jolted fast enough for even its sound to keep up, whilst shrouded in a coat of water trying again and again to escape the vice like grasp of the infuriated tides.

Eventually the train gave up on its everlasting escape and allowed the indomitable sea to swallow it down to the pit of its stomach. Satisfied the waves ebbed away breaking into gentle ripples.
